Music Worcester seeks highly talented student musicians from the greater Worcester area to compete in its 2008 Young Artist Competition to be held on Tuesday, May 6th at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Applications must be postmarked by Friday, April 25, 2008.
Applicants must perform a movement from a concerto or a work from the standard classical repertoire, 5-7 minutes in duration, on an orchestral instrument or piano. Students must provide their own accompanist, if needed.
First Prize: Scholarship award and performance as soloist at the Music Guild's Spring Musicale in a Showcase for Young Artists at the Worcester Country Club in
Additional prizes: Scholarship award and performance as soloist at Music Worcester's Annual Meeting at the discretion of Music Worcester.
Scholarship awards range from $1,100 to $500.

Through its Young Artist Competition, Music Worcester seeks to encourage highly talented artists and provide the winners with scholarship awards and performance opportunities.
